Herbal Medicine – what it is

Rachel has taken a complete break from practising Herbal Medicine and so is no longer treating patients in the clinics. If you need to find a practitioner local to you please visit www.nimh.org.uk

There has always been an important relationship between Humans and plants. Plants provide us with food and good nutrition, fuel, shelter and incredible medicines. The health profession of Herbal Medicine uses natural plant preparations in the treatment of ‘dis-ease’. This may be in the form of a liquid tincture, capsule, infusion, or topical application.

Herbal medicine is one of the oldest forms of medicine practised. It is appropriate for most of the conditions for which you would visit your G.P. These include digestive and circulatory problems, skin disorders, insomnia, stress and emotional issues, hormonal imbalances, musculo-skeletal aches and pains, respiratory conditions and many more.

A holistic approach is used, recognising the importance of physical, mental and emotional balance to improve the health of the ‘whole’ person.

My approach

I am passionate about helping people to learn and understand more about their own health & wellbeing. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge of the medicinal properties of plants and hope to help you with Herbal remedies which support your body’s own ability to heal. I treat the individual person and look at the underlying causes which could be contributing to your symptoms.

My aim is to offer friendly and professional natural healthcare suitable for all the family.
